Site is Miscalculating Miles Between Fuel-Ups!

Today I entered a fuel-up. When I hit return to complete it, ALL of my prior entries were recalculated and now show incorrect individual and average MPG. Until today's update, my average was over 45MPG, with the recent trend at 49.5MPG. Now it shows an average of 30+MPG. I tried updating the last entry, then deleting it; but the miscalculation persists. If you look at all the entries, the data is correct EXCEPT the calculated miles between fill-ups. Example: on 8/15 mileage was 44,128 mi.; on 8/23 it was 44,512 mi., a difference of 384 miles; but the site is calculating the miles travelled between as 281 miles; so calculated MPG is WAY below actual. Can this be fixed, or do I have to delete and re-enter all 20-some fuel-ups?

Now I see 384 _kilometers_ at your last entry.

Interesting; so, somehow the site has reconverted all my historical elapsed miles per tank as if they had been entered as kilometers and misconverted them to miles? That's messed up. Not sure what I could have done to make that happen...

Anybody know how to un-misconvert?

Rick,

Sorry for the issues. We are looking into this and should be able to get your page to update properly without you needing to edit any of the fuel ups. I've already contacted our tech guys so they can figure out what's causing this issue. I'll send you a private message once it's fixed.

Andy

I had similar problems after entering 4 entries this weekend from a road trip.

Fuelly.com calculated km/L based on half the travelled number of kms with the same number of Litres consumed! MySQL retrieved Decimal digit Odometer readings with 1 digit of decimal, but Odometer has no place for tenths of km.

-Strange readings.

How odd. Mine are still whacked. I haven't heard from Andy or the tech guys as yet...

outofgas 09-09-2013 08:38 AM

I am experencing the same problem.I have had three fuel ups and mpg calucation is based on the total miles of the three fullups.

I'm having the same problem. Fuelly techs, help!

rallison 09-16-2013 07:41 AM

I've sent a note to Andy to see if the techs have been able to make any progress...

Sorry abut the slow resolution to this. We are looking into the issue and will get back to you all asap.

rallison 09-16-2013 10:01 PM

Thanks!

@rallison Your car was changed to track in KM - at the top of your car profile there is an Edit link that gives you some car specific preferences. I flipped your car back of to Miles and performed a re-calc and your Avg MPG is back up to 46.8 with your most recent at 51.2 MPG. Sorry for the delay and let us know if you run into any more issues.

rallison 09-19-2013 01:48 AM

Odd; that change was not intentional, that's for sure. Thank you for finding the cause (even if it turned out to be the chair-to-keyboard interface) and correcting it!

Bones313 09-23-2013 11:01 AM

I also have miscalulations on my l/km info and also my km have changed to miles??? was getting about 7.6 l per 100 km now getting 17.25 l per 100km. PLEASE correct this error. Thanks.

Bones313 09-23-2013 11:09 AM

Also forgot my last input says my odometer is WWaaYY off

last input was under 30,000 km but now says 54,051.4km

Am I getting someone elses info?

Bones313 09-23-2013 11:30 AM

Just realized that ALL my gas inputs do not show the correct dollar amount.(sure wish gas was this price....

I remember when it was LOL) price shows 0.345/l when it should read 1.345/l. What would cause this (after update)

jo6626 09-26-2013 07:13 AM

my info is incorrect, due to my own fault, I think?

How do I reset all the info to start fresh again?
