Watch out for a wide variation in fuel prices in France, motorway service stations can be 30 cents a litre more! Use http://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ to check fuel prices in your area, it is a government website with all the fuel prices on it. There is often a much cheaper garage a couple of km away. Supermarkets, Esso and Elf are usually the cheapest in my area (06 Alpes Maritimes).
