found that the timing chain gear on the crankshaft is broken into half. will update again on the root cause when i get to actually disassembling the engine.

ODO Engine failed to charge hybrid battery while wife on the way to the dentist. parked at arco hacienda exit. had to tow back home. batt at 20% when checked. battery is getting charged so it can move around for final parking spot for inspection. indications: CEL P0340. wierd noise during batt charge. air whoosh noise when turned off. something seems loose. Found: missing OCC cover. engine ran lean, clogged cat. hence engine stopped and didnt charge battery.

ODO 201578 Oil change cleaned up the oil leak a little. i think its from the timing hole but i cant see it that well. also sounds like its misfiring sometimes. not sure why.

ODO 183670 Oil changed. Filter and using Castrol 0W-20 so far so good. everything looks good. except her battery that seems to discharge really fast.

oil changed. OCC had 50ml of capture. dipstick was at 1/8 from top or 3mm from top. oil was dark but not black black.

First oil change after "break in" period. found 10ml of oil in OCC. hmm... M1 0w-20 oil. OEM filter. oil look relatively clean for 400 mi run + lots of idling. oil dipstick hard to read because its too clean.
