World Oil Santa Monica. End odometer 81,002. A visit to the shop at Subaru Santa Monica killed the mpg and reset the computers, as they disconnected the battery. All back to normal now.

Valero Santa Rosa. End odometer 80,065. The Outback's computer says Santa Monica to Coalinga was 36.3 mpg, and Coalinga to Santa Rosa 35.9 mpg. The car usually claims better fuel economy than the pump, but it's odd that the leg with better mpg includes climbing over Tejon Pass. Drove the whole route at 55 mph. I'll have to draft trucks more: on the level, 55 mph was around 35 mpg, but 60 mph drafting trucks as 45 mpg. I'm surprised it's such a big difference.
