Online Sync's design allows data to be shared between multiple iPhones and iPods. It is useful for transferring Gas Cubby data to a newly purchased device or keeping separately entered data on multiple devices synchronized.

Doing either of these two things is as simple as setting up Online Sync; the critical part is to use the same email address on each device intended to share data. For each device, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address entered and the owner of that email address must click the confirmation link within. For each device to synchronize with the Online Sync account, the Sync button must be tapped on the main screen.

To visualize how this sharing works, consider the single, shared database as if it is a chalkboard in the lobby of a building to which each user of the same account has access. Tapping Sync is like walking up to the chalkboard, recording to your notepad all the changes the other users have made, and adding your changes to the chalkboard. If you never visit the chalkboard, there is no update.
