Service Reminders is great tool to ensure vehicles are properly maintained. A reminder will trigger when a service is within 10% of coming due. For example, if "Oil Change" is left at the default 3 months and 3000 miles, the oil change reminder will trigger when it is within 9 days or 300 miles of the service coming due.
Active alerts may be Snoozed or Silenced. If Snoozed, the alert appears in 10% intervals until a record has been entered with that specific service; if Silenced, the alert for that service will not appear again until another service record for it has been entered and it's time for that service again.
For overdue services, a passive alert is available and appears as a red badge on the Gas Cubby icon to indicate the number of overdue services. Badge Notification may be turned off in Settings.
The distance or time remaining until the next service is viewable on the vehicle detail page. To determine which vehicle is triggering the service reminder badge, open a vehicle detail screen and swipe horizontally to flip through each vehicle detail screen. Services with black numbers are not yet due; those with red numbers are overdue.
Service reminder intervals may be changed by tapping "Edit" in the top right of the vehicle detail page, then tapping the "Service Reminders" field. From the Service Reminders screen, select a service to edit and adjust the time and distance numbers determining the service frequency. Setting a number to blank in the editing screen tells Gas Cubby to ignore that unit; setting both time and distance numbers to blank tells Gas Cubby to ignore the service entirely so alerts and reminders never trigger.
At this time, it is not possible to set a specific date or odometer reading to fire a one-time alert; to begin a service reminder countdown, a service record must first be entered.
