"3 wheeled cars"
https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...284986028&rd=1
So I found that link.. I can see it now, those chinese made (I highly suppose) "cars" having 3 wheels to be registred as a motorcycle thus evading any crash laws...invading us slowly and slowly....now that oil prices are a hot topic! |
AHH!!!
It gets me everytime!! Why do they always use that design when it pretty much sucks!!! Put two wheels in front and on in the back!!!! not the other way around!!! |
Yes the aerodynamics will be better with a tadpole trike, but for carrying/accessing a load two in the back seems to work better.

I think you only need about a third the components on the front end for single wheel steering vs 2 wheel.

I actually started a thread about these things. here is a link to the web site.
https://www.wildfirevehicles.com/What...ew_models.html I talked to a guy from the web and he said they started around 7K. he also pointed out that you could flip them over if you take a hard corner and the weight is distributed wrong. I have all but talked myself out of these for a lot of reasons. A/C is not an option and with 26hp, I don't think you could put one on it period. it is still a neat idea. |
Speaking of 3 wheelers- I would like to take a small old motorcycle (like my 305 Kawasaki) and put a log sidecar on it and then move all the controls into the sidecar so the driver and passenger could ride recumbent, bobsled style- then cover the whole thing with an aerodynamic skin.
The biggest worry would be a side impact... Statistically, I wonder which side is more likely to be hit in a side impact that is not the struck driver's fault? |

I gotta have 4 wheels under me.
Just my opinion, of course. |
I'm thinkin' that over-revving it could be a seriously disturbing event. I hope that driver seat cushion is shielded with Kevlar!
