Throwout bearing & EOC
I only have a vague understanding of the clutch throwout bearing, but I had a thought. It is said that you should not spend a lot of time with the clutch depressed, even at a dead stop, because you will prematurely wear the throwout bearing.
If the engine is off, does the throwout bearing not wear and not spin? Can I stay on the clutch pedal during EOC if I want to, instead of shifting to neutral? |
Yes. Throwout bearing is not rotating when engine is turned off.
