94 GS-R with VX swap
 

hello everyone, I just pulled a turbo 1.8l out of my integra and put a d15z1.
I will be putting a turbo on it soon I want 45+ mpg and gsr hp. It seems that everyone here is forgetting that 1/3 of a car power slips out the tail pipe.

1.8 b18c1 turbo with cummings holset turbo, light flywheel, Ls 5th gear, 15" si wheels= 32mpg.

1.5 d15z1 (soon to be) turbo hope it gets better mpg.

Interesting. What are you using for engine management? Why not keep the GSR as it is and getting a Civic to swap the motor into? If I had a B18C getting 32 mpg, I'd be quite satisfied.

Im running the car on the stock p07 ecu, i had to because i want to run with a lean mode on the car.

As for swaping out the gsr turbo motor,

1st I had it stock paying for 91 octane
why not turbo and get the power out of the car that im paying for 170hp to 220 /260 hp
with a light flywheel and tall 5th gear = 32 mpg

job as a courier (1000+ miles a week) = still not a deal

So i want it all with the integra 45+ mpg and around 170 hp on 85 octane.(170 might be high on this octane) but the most any way.

btw all i can find is recoverd theft integras, so i have 3 right now 94 gsr, 98 gsr, 01 type R

I will always have a integra for the rest of my life.

another thing civics don't come with abs or rear disk brakes, (some top of the line civics did=rare) but the si

ill bet you used more gas with that vx motor pushing that heavy integra. put the stock gsr motor back in with the stock intake manafold.

Please keep your project and results up to date, I'm very interested in your project as I have a turbo Volvo wagon that I can find tons of performance mods for, but not much info on improving mpg at the same time. Any insight you find will help me. i.e. bigger turbo so you can stay out of boost at lower rpms, vs smaller turbo that would kick into boost right off idle, etc. Not many turbo guys on here that I've found.

I love Integras too. I have a 92. Someday I wouldn't mind having a Type R. But 45 mpg on 85 Octane with a D15Z1 in an Integra... you just let me know how that goes.

My Civic came with rear drums but that was easily remedied.

dude...i was thinkin the same idea as you...it just seem'd diffilcult though...tell me how thigs go, if things go smoothly man post the results or tell us otherwise...i love integras...i prefer them over civic's any day...but i gotta say with the economoy the way it is...i'm lovin the civc VX lolx
