Such thing as an Inexpensive EFIE?
I have a Mits Galant 2004 with 4 frickin O2 sensors.
I need two dual EFIES and I am not looking to spend $200 Any idea who sells reasonable priced dual EFIEs? These things are so simple and so grossly overpriced! |
Efie
This one looks decent. All I know is what you can read also. I ran across this looking for an HHO PWM.

Any other suggestions?

We've discussed hooking up a 0.5 volt battery to the o2 sensor wire as a cheap EFIE, but I haven't tried it yet (You can seach for "tricking O2 sensor"). You might try an oxygen sensor extender for $2 or so (drill out a spark plug anti fouler)

Thanks for the reply, however I am looking to do this correctly,
I want to measure results and be able to turn things off and on. a .5 volt battery won't do anything worthwhile nor will an extender |
Re: Such thing as an Inexpensive EFIE?
You can type in SIMPLE CHEAP EFIE in GOOGLE,
or type it in to YOUTUBE.COM and you should get my post of a simple, cheap efie. It requires no oscilloscope, no meters, no test waveform generators, no calibration equipment, no power supplies, because: It "is" the meter... With changing weather, driving conditions, different gasolines, and hundreds of other factors, such as whether you are primarily in the city, or going on a long cross- the - nation tour, UNLIKE many "other" designs that use oscilloscopes, voltage and amperage precision power supplies, a couple of multimeters, etc, and PERMANENTLY SET the EFIE to one reading with a tiny SET SCREW, this EFIE shows you the levels of the O2 Sensor and the added EFIE amount, anytime you want, and you can adjust it correctly and easily over time. It is SOOOooo cheap to make that you can quickly and easily make two. The plans and diagrams are free, and the only difficult part is to accurately finding the single OUTPUT wire on the O2 sensor, ... thats it. Once installed, you can watch the pulsing signal under normal conditions, and then add in whatever amount you want.. Since there is a bright LED DOT meter, you can visually see the characteristics of the O2 at a glance, and you have an excellent idea of any adjustments. youtube parts ( a bit fuzzy ) is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C9WIhtETho youtube demo of the unit in action is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N02-8XM0G2Q CLEAR, JPGs which are designed for printing are online at: kidbots.com/WEBADD/HYDROGEN_FUEL The cost for the units is in the neighborhood of $10 depending on what case and parts you use, and what materials you have already - for example, most handy people already have 1 K resistors, switches, solder, etc in their kits. NOTE: You ONLY need EFIEs usually on the INPUT O2's depending on how you are using them - very few people put them on the OUTPUT O2's, but only you know what you are using them for! Since you usually get a break in quantity, getting 2 would run you $20 or so, 4 units would cost $30 -40 depending on if you get great prices on buying a couple of items in a bag at a lower price... Some of the ON OFF switches would do for ALL 2 or 4 units, and you can save by using one case, ONE power "ON" led etc, so the price for a few of these used in the same vehicle would lower... Good luck ! ROBIN |
