Imperial/Metric choices for both distance and volume (separated out)

What would be the chances of separating out the distance and volume measurements so you can choose Imperial or Metric for each?

Here in the UK, we still use miles for our odometers (and road signs) but have been forced by the EU to use litres at the pumps. So although we deal with MPG when looking at fuel consumption, the pump doesn't actually tell us in gallons how much we put in (and fuel prices are only displayed in £ per litre).

Crazy I know, but to save us having to do a conversion before entering the numbers in Fuelly, it would be great to put in our trip/odometer reading in miles and put in how much fuel we just pumped in litres. It wouldn't be too much trouble for Fuelly to do the conversions to show MPG then.

Otherwise we've got to convert the pump reading to gallons (or our odometer reading to kilometres) ourselves before updating Fuelly on our mobiles, which isn't exactly convenient.

I'd second this one, although for me it's just the opposite of Robert. My scooter's speedometer reads in miles, and here in Kansas I'm filling up in gallons, but the odometer displays kilometers... quite the pain in the neck when trying to figure my mpg!

There's also the matter of UK gallons being larger than US gallons.

I'm interested in seeing what sort of mileage a specific vehicle gets, in aggregate real-world use by actual drivers. But if some drivers are in the USA, and some in the UK, and they are each using different gallons, it skews the data.

Perhaps there should be three choices - Litres, USA Gallons, and UK gallons?

UK drivers also fill up in litres but calculate distances in miles. Here in Ireland we switched to KM but all our bikes are UK import so I buy litres but my trip is in miles.

Another thing is that most european coutries (except the UK maybe) measure fuel efficiency in liter per hundreds: ie how many liters of gas does it takes to do a 100km. It would be great to have the option to display this.

maffiou, we have Avg L/100km in everyone's stats right now. But we're planning ways to make it more prominent.

We just separated out the distance and volume measurements for folks in the UK: More Metric Options. Currency conversion is on the way, but probably a week or more out.

Great news, thanks! Great to see that you guys read the boards and take on suggestions - so rare! Keep up the good work!
