EOC restart beeping, and forum hate / moral projection
 

I tried EOC this morning, it was comfortable enough, but my VW went "beeeeeep beeeeeep beeeeeep" when I restarted with the key. I asked on golfmkv.com but of course all I got were moral judgements, not technical answers (kinda like CryingStreetRacer got here except with zero helpful answers).

Any idea why it beeped (more technical than "you shouldn't have done that")?

Typically that sound is a seatbelt reminder, at least in Honda's it is. It sounds every time the ignition is switched to the run position.

Do you hear that same beeping when you first start the car in the morning?

No, it was very different from any seatbelt reminder or other routine sound. It was pretty obvious that it was an error/warning beep, by the tone and duration.

hmm, sorry, I only know my VWs up to about the early 90's....maybe someone else can chime in.
