Saturn S-series door question

The saturn forums weren't being very giving, so I decided to ask here.
I am shopping for a Saturn here in Japan, but I have a question about door lengths. How long is the SC door compared to the SL door? I had a coupe before with a long heavy door, and I am concerned about the small parking areas and being able to get out of the car. Does anyone have those numbers?

I wish I could help you but I don't have an SC. I can tell you that I sat in an SC and immediately disliked the lack of headroom. It felt short and constricting. I'm only 6' tall. Maybe an SC without a sunroof would have more headroom.

I wouldn't worry about it. I remember the big long doors on my old SC2, and my SW2 doesn't compare. The SL# has the same size door as my SW2. It's a nice small door.

How long are your SL2 doors love my Sam? I have found a 35K KM SL2 in Tokyo for about $3000 or so, and would like to make the decision in the next few weeks, because I know some buyers for the car I have now.

Also, do you have long legs, or a long torso?

SC2 door comes in at 51 1/4 inches. Anyone, please pull out the tape measure and check your SL door

On my SW2, the length of the front door is about 40". When the door is open to it's maximum, it sticks out about 35" perpendicular to the side of the car. Soooooo, 35" would be your side clearance of the door open all the way.

Any S-series guys point me to your aero mods, or suggest ways of searching. Homing in on a 14K miles SL2 for about $2K or so

If I were you, I would give an SL1 a chance. Assuming you are buying a stickshift, the SL1 will have a better 5th gear for MPG, and *might* come with manual steering, which removes the parasitic load of power steering.

For Aero mods, I think lovemysan's belly pan and workmanship are the best for S-Series Saturns :

But, the pictures for the above thread are missing. They have moved to here (this URL is from his sig) :

only 2’s here, and only autos. Only thing imported here. I would still do the 2 in the US, with probably a 1 5th gear change if I had the chance. Most of the vehicles here are autos, especially the imports.

I will check on the belly pan, don’t think I can get away with aftermarket wheel covers. Also be looking for some radiator blocking stuff too.

I’m hoping to use this as a transition car, so my gf can get used to it’s size, and I can get used to working on it, so when/if we come back to the states, she will be in a good cheap car and be used to it’s size.
