EPA Revised all MPG estimates on www.fueleconomy.gov
Just browsing today on www.fueleconomy.gov and noticed that all the 2007- MY cars have had their MPG estimates revised.
My cars: 94 VX went from 47/56 to 39/50 94 Supra went from 17/23 to 15/22 95 240SX went from 22/28 to 19/26 anyone know what kind of conversion factor theyre using? |
meant to post this in the general discussion, whoops.
|
This is the old revision from way back when, right? I think for the old cars they just based it on how much the new cars changed, though I haven't seen any numbers on it.
Mehbe someone else knows? |
The actual window sticker from the vehicle is the pre '08 EPA . The .Gov site has both listed and can compare by clicking "Compare to actual EPA window sticker" in the model that you are viewing .
I revised my #'s back to the old EPA /window sticker . Why? Well I drive much closer to the old EPA test than the new (with the exception of A/C use when I warrant it ) . Besides its more challenging now ...:) |
bwa ai looked up FE for an 85 chevette(old as they go) and it got for a 4 speed 4 cyl 24/31. which is bull honkey cuz my 80 gets 32 highway and city combined...says it dumps out 6.8 tones of greenhouse gasses a year..
dang i wish i had a 5speed.. even the EPA rating says it gets 30 combined driving 75% highway 25 city. if i had that i could see almost 40 mpg!!! |
Hey VetteOwner,
How do you keep an '80 chevette alive? I sold my '79 chevette 20 years ago with 100K I put on it from brand new. My '79 was a 4 speed, got 33 mpg tops and got 22 mpg when it was really cold out 10?F or below. What's the 0 to 60 time? I don't even remember. Do you live in a place where there is no snow, sleet, freezing rain, etc? I wish I did and then maybe I would still have my '79. |
wait you have a 94 supra! damn is it stock? give us some info!
