What are your shifting patterns???
Please post shifting patterns for your manual and possibly the rpm you shift into the next gear.
Mine are 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th. I shift out of 1st as soon as the car is moving. I shift out of second at 20mph I shift out of fourth at 32mph Anything 32+mph I stay in 5th gear. I'm doing this for research. |

Unfortunately MPH is worthless as a comparison for shift points. |
I shift when the voices tell me to shift. They talk a lot.
99.9% of the time I shift at or about 2,000RPM and go through all five gears. The 4-5 shift is the exception if the road is level or slightly downhill, because then I'll shift at 30-32 which sends the tach to the 1100RPM range. (Have to be careful not to do that while warming up because the high idle will override my foot and try to make the car accelerate! Not that it works, it just doesn't help with fuel consumption.) If you had a ScanGauge you would be able to find out how fast the engine is turning in each gear for a given speed... |
I shift up every time the tach hits 2,500 rpm.

Then how come you posted MPH in your thread at the beginning? No one else knows your gearing so it's big and worthless for us to see something we can't relate to.

i tend to leave in in first gear a lot until i get over 20-30mph unless im in really slow traffic, in which i shift every 10mph or so.
i usually beem through the gears until i reach the desired speed, so thats either 1-2-5 or 1-2-3-5. 4th is only used for when i am forced to cruise between 30 and 40mph. there is that rare instance where i do a pull from 80mph, if its over 80 i wont put it into 3rd cus the time there is just too short lived to justify the shift. but like i said, thats rare. |

I usually shift 1, 2, 3, 5, shifting as soon as I get moving fast enough to not lug the next gear. I don't have a tack on my car, so I have no idea of the RPM's other than that they are low. I usually only add 4th gear to the sequence if I am accelerating up a hill and I can't get into 5th at a low RPM.
