Sure, if you choose any of several among these cars. Even 300+ mpg if you can find a VW XL1 that returned 100 kilometers for 1 liter of diesel.

You could cram yourself into a tinny, unreliable, uncomfortable, unsafe, underpowered classic like those featured. Or you could just get yourself a modern diesel that will match or better the economy. I know what I'd prefer.

There are several that are too cool looking to pass up. I wouldn't drive one a lot but a little now and then would be fun. And they would be cool to look at the rest of the time.
