Hi there
Been a fuel economy junkie as a hobby when I was 17 and I hypermiled my Honda XL185 dirt bike into town by coasting with the engine off for the last few miles where I could. Got about 90 mpg a tank with that game
Nowadays I use adaptive radar cruise to keep to the speed limit and follow the slow folks in the right lane of super slab and that seems to work wonders for mpg in my Honda Ridgeline with Variable Cylinder Management. Just pulled down back to back 28.5 mpg tanks with that technique. Same game, different toys. Skye |
Welcome. I try mild hypermiling too but draw the line at switching the engine off. I do switch off at long traffic lights though, and do my best to use DFCO and coasting where appropriate. I use a ScanGauge E to show me my instantaneous mpg and average mpg and constantly strive to keep the former above the latter.
Take it you are a fan of Starland Vocal Band, or do you just like a little "afternoon delight"? |
