Are you a "super taster"?

I read that some of us are born with a lot more taste buds. They call these folks "super tasters".

On a separate read, there are two women, who are employed by food companies to test taste new drinks and food recipes. The article claims these two women are SO taste sensitive they can sip a soda and tell you the precise Coca Cola bottling plant made that drink.

Find Out If You're a "Supertaster" with These Tests

Knowing how to appreciate good food, wine, paintings, and classical musicianship is a blessing and curse.

I did a favor for someone. They took me to dinner. While trying to decide which wine to go with the rib eye steak, a restaurant regular, sitting nearby, overheard and suggested the Silver Oak cabernet.

My friend doesn't drink, so I ordered JUST a glass. I would have to say that was the finest glass of wine I had ever enjoyed. And remarked about it throughout dinner.

When the bill arrived we had a good chuckle to find out that one glass was $60.

I'm still a cheap wine drinker, but I would've never known the difference if I hadn't been "ruined" by that one glass of Silver Oak.

Wow, $60 for a glass of wine. Yikes. I'm not a drinker at all. I tasted wine 2 times about 40 years ago. No clue what either of them was now although I think one might have been rose. Both were awful. I didn't like broccoli then either though so who knows, I might like wine now. They say one glass of red a day is majorly healthful.
