Need help from the electronics guys
I know that there are a number of electronics guys here, so I'm going to be asking for your help.
Provided I obtain all of the correct schematics and technical information, I want to build a conversion box that will convert the digital signal from a Honda digital VSS (vehicle speed sensor) from a 1992 carto the appropriate digital signal for the honda s2000 cluster. It is my understanding that the 1992 Civic VSS is analog pulses, and the s2000 cluster is a digital signal. There will also have to be something made that will convert the temp gauge, which I also understand doesn't work. Another possible solution is to convert the display to run off of an aftermarket digital speedometer, which would be a viable solution assuming we could get the odometer to work as well. This may actually be the easiest solution to do. I'm sure there are some cheap aftermarket digital speedos out there to use. Anyway, here a picture of the s2000 cluster in a CRX: https://www.marklamond.co.uk/projects...installed1.jpg |
didn't we go over this
didn't we go over this already??
When I used to have my msd system I hooked it up to the negative side of my coil and got the signal from there. Then the MSD sent the signal a tach adapter and my tech worked after that. That might be one way of doing it. |
The problem isn't the tach,
The problem isn't the tach, it's the vss.

I know it's not. I'm saying
I know it's not. I'm saying the MSD might convert the signal so his new tach might work.

What function of msd deals
What function of msd deals with vss? (I've never used it)

w00t. Thanks SVOBoy. I
w00t. Thanks SVOBoy. I need to print these out and make myself a small conversion harness for the display.

Can't do that!
