Just joined

Hi everyone!

I just joined and added all of my vehicle records. (I've saved mileage in all my gas receipts for the last 5 years, so this includes my current 2 vehicles, previous 3, and a bunch of rentals.) Great site; definitely makes it easy to visualize the data!

One question occurred to me as I was going through all this... Is there a limit to how many vehicles you can add (either in your garage or retired)? I found a post about that from several years ago but nothing recent.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome! I'm not aware of any limits currently in the system. Maybe Robert can chime in and confirm this?

Welcome aboard!
We bumped the limit to 20 vehicles a couple of years ago.
I don't think we've been asked to increase it since.

I currently have 12 (lol).

Ah, well I've got 10 already... Might have to rethink including all my rental cars, lol!

Out of general curiosity, what's your reasoning for tracking your fuel economy on a Rental vehicle anyway? Especially when you only do 2-3 fillups on it?

Oh, I just like to collect data, and to see how other cars compare to my own. I put almost 2000 miles on my last rental, so I figure that's a decent sample.

Thanks for your help!

I didn't think anybody ever filled rentals up in fear they might give them back with some left! ;)

Lol, well here in the states, they'll charge you triple market rate to refill it. (Some charge you for a full tank even if it was only down a fraction.)

Well that's the benefit of cheap fuel, if you pick up a rental here, it's standard to have the fuel warning light on, and they expect it to be on when you give it back too.

I'd be very upset if I just got off a long flight, picked up my rental car, and the first thing I had to do was put fuel in it.
