My Fit got 43 mpg on a cross-country trek early last month. With 3 people and 200 pounds of gear. My best tank was over 48 mpg, and I had 4 tanks over 44.

How fast were you going?

60-75 mph, depending on grade and traffic. Mostly 2-lane highways.
