"Start Your Engines!" versus Seafoam
Saw an ad for a product called "Start Your Engines" fuel system revitalizer by a company called Gold Eagle.
Was wondering if anyone has tried it? Is it made from the same stuff as Seafoam? (perhaps we need an "additives" subforum ...?) |
Not like Seafoam at all.

i don't like ANY additives myself. SNAKE OIL!
modern fuels have detergents in them already. when was the last time you heard of a clogged injector? well maybe save an old old car with silly high mileage running the crappiest cheapest fuel the owner can find... only additives i use are for a particular purpose and those are next to none. for example, slip friction modifier for oil in a LSD differential. |

There enviromental record is way better than most brands. Behind_the_Logos check out exxonmobil |
He's very obviously against us. Most importantly I do not purchase Citgo because Chavez has said that he could use the price of oil as a weapon against the United States. I choose to not send him any money.

"You are a coward (George Bush) , a killer, a [perpetrator of] genocide, an alcoholic, a drunk, a liar, an immoral person, Mr Danger. You are the worst, Mr Danger. The worst of this planet... A psychologically sick man, I know it."
This sounds correct "In April 2001, the world's green parties agreed to launch an international boycott against ExxonMobil in protest against the company's alleged role in getting George W. Bush elected and its activities in campaigning against the Kyoto Protocol on global warming. " "ExxonMobil, who has reportedly set no targets for reductions in CO2 emissions, has confirmed that its greenhouse gas emissions rose 2% in 2003 to 135.6 million tons. Exxon’s worsening emissions may be caused, in part, by an increase of flaring of gas in Nigeria. Flaring, which is illegal in most countries, is when natural gas is extracted simultaneously with oil and burned off straight into the atmosphere. Exxon’s emissions are more than 50% higher than their closest competitor’s, despite only a slightly larger production of oil and gas." "ExxonMobil is a leader in using its profits to buy political influence. In return, ExxonMobil has benefited from, among other things, over $5 billion in taxpayer subsidies over the last decade." In 2005, Global Exchange named Chevron Corporation one of "The 14 Worst Corporate Evildoers", citing the companies extensive environmental and human rights abuses. "ChevronTexaco is involved in a lawsuit in Ecuador which charges the company with destroying land through massive dumping of highly toxic wastewater and crude oil over a 20 year period. On May 6, 2003 attorneys representing more than 30,000 Ecuadorian rainforest peoples filed suit in Lago Agrio, a small oil town in Ecuador's Oriente region. If found liable, the damages could be greater than than the $5 billion dollars rewarded in the Exxon Valdez disaster" You don't like Chavez because he is willing to speak out against a tyrannous gov't. Most of the world does not like us he is the only one who will say it. I don't like Bush and Exxon because they are distroying our world and killing people. |
And all along I thought these oil companies were just nice people trying to scrape a living ... :D
But anyway, on additives, a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a bottle of mineral spirits or "Varsol" is about all you'll ever need. IPA for antifreeze, bad gas, "emissions cleaner" octane booster etc etc, varsol for injector cleaning and decarbonising. |
I haven't noticed a differance after i've used the seafoam. I agree with Jay additives are not a replacement for good maintainance.

i'm most certainly w/ jay, on both accounts!
