World's Fastest Electric Superbike

World's Fastest Electric Superbike

Not quite the hybrid shatto posted but nice. I'm sure they meant fastest commerically available bike though. 50 miles, 2 hour recharge time which is decent I suppose. Battery technology has a ways to go before electric anything becomes popular.

Article mention that it is a 2wd vehicle, I can't see rom the picture how it could be 2 wheel drive:

It even has passnger seat and pegs.. 2 hour charge time is awsome, my bicycle lights takes longer than 2 hours to charge..

I should. It's just a rolling chassis of a 10+ year old Suzuki sportbike.

3.7 seconds to 60 isn't bad. Won't keep up with a lot of bikes in the sportbike category, but it's at least respectable.

Just ran into this...
https://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/10...ming-from-ktm/

KTM, a major motorcycle manufacturer, is making an electric race ready dirt bike. Honda and Yamaha are saying they will have hybrid scooters by 2010. Piaggio is supposed to have one in production pretty much now. Interesting stuff.

WOW that uses as much energy as a car sized electric vehicle.

Bike aerodynamics are pretty bad.

And the contact patch is small. If it hooks up, it will wheelie. Should be a decent handling ride, but off from the later models of Suzuki's. Still, I don't have much of an idea where they have the weight for all the motors and batteries either.

It's an exersize.

I like the GSXR 750, it's comfy to me, my SV was very nice,it was almost like I was sitting up and leaned just a bit forward due to my tallness. If you don't have a comfy sport bike than your probably didn't test it out before purchase.I've seen this guy and his bike on the Planet Green cable station. Pretty cool shows about electric powered bikes and cars up against gas powered ones.I can't believe he dragged that thing there and not on a track.

I would drive this! Cool.

Too bad they've gone by the wayside (website is gone, anyway). Price needs to get down to less than half that before there's likely to be any interest...
