--- IAT Temp of 150F ... I WANT MORE!! ---

Anybody here run over 150F constantly?

I am hitting aroudn 140-150 in city driving pretty constantly and I LOVE IT. I can open the throttle really far and it just makes my mpg jump up high.

Anyway, anyone running hotter with no ill effects?

BTW, my highway IAT is only of around 110F.

With a grille block and removing the cover from the air cleaner box I hit up to 170F in my truck, and that's with no ducting from the exhaust manifold. I've been tempted to put some ducting in to help with short trip and warmup IAT's, but been to busy to get it done.

Yea thats the thing it takes a lot of time for my IAT's to hit 150, but they do.

So if I go warmer (which I can) I know that it will hit 150 faster ... but then again it will go over it, and I dont know how much more beneficial it can be ... ?

I have heard that the magic number is between 180 and 200 degrees.

I would be cautious experimenting this time of the year. come spring and summer, you may forget that you had modified it and go way over that 200 mark. I don't really know what happens at those temps because I like to be cautious and I like for my car to stay in working order.

Thanks to the radiator block my engine now runs at 180 F with no problems at all. It reaches about 194 F in highway.
