Volume Corrected to 15C notice on pumps

My usual filling station (in the UK) has just installed new pumps that state on them "Volume corrected to 15 Celsius, this does not apply to biodiesel" (Gilbarco Veeder-Root made pump, replaced a Wayne Dressler made pump)

I wonder if this means the old tip of filling up at night/in the cold to get more fuel is now no longer possible?

I usually fill at night and I don't think I have noticed a change.

The tanks are so far underground that the urban legend to fill up at night doesn't apply.

*if* there was significant temperature fluctuation (which there isn't), then the old advice would still be true, in so much as the fuel would still change volume slightly on a temperature change. However as Ciderbarrel notes, because the tanks are underground, the temperature does not significantly fluctuate.

At the moment I have a slightly different take on filling up at night.

My car has a very small fuel tank (30 litres nominal--can get 31.5 when brimming it) as a result of a wheelchair conversion (the full size tank was removed to allow the rear floor to be dropped and form a rear entry ramp). Not that I need a wheelchair, it was just a cheap low mileage car when I needed one.

So getting a little more fuel in the tank (because the CAR's tank is cold) increases my range just a little.

(In case you are asking: Nissan Prairie Pro M11 with Brotherwood w/c conversion).
