I swapped the fuel injectors from the 90 HF to the 88 HF. Turns out the 88 had different injectors with rubber tips while the 90 appeared to have ceramic tips. Also the 88 was missing the center ceramic spacer on the fuel rail. I can tell a huge difference in the injectors. I think I need to bump (advance) the timing a little cause the idle is ****ty. I'm also gonna run fuel injector cleaner next tank, but on the run around town today (20 miles) my fuel gauge didn't even go down noticeably at all. Which is a difference to before.https://www.gassavers.org/attachment....1&d=1182042561
injectors from 1990 CRX HF probably with 312K miles.

suspect replacement injectors found in 1988 CRX HF with very low miles.

 Hope that was the problem.

yeah the replacement gaskets were shorter also, I remember him saying that they had sent him the "wrong injectors" the first time. who knows maybe the first ones were wrong too. He also said it was easy to change them, at least he was right about that.

Are you using the 90 at all?

I tell my family "I bought it for parts" cause they always talk like my cars are ****. Really the injectors are the first thing I've taken from the car. I do plan on swapping the engine so I won't buy new injectors. I don't have it insured but it does drive (needs a battery). I drove it around the block once after I used a bottle of block and head gasket repair cause it has a blown, maybe warped head. It sounded better than the 88 when I cranked it up though. Adding insurance on it right now would just be too much. I want to sell my truck, but my parents/boss/g/f all want me to keep it. I know the a/c in the 90 CRX works awesome cause it was blowing cold right after I started it up, my 88 never blew that cold before it went out.

Anyway, its my parts/project car. I'll take parts off that I plan on replacing when I do the engine swap, but I really want to keep it running just incase. My g/f drives my vehicles too so if the 88 or my truck die, it'd be nice to get the red car running.

Ah, I see. What use does the truck have for you?

my g/f drives it, and I used it to move from Baton Rouge. Its my "reliable" backup transportation.

Today I found out that only the 88 crx hf uses 180cc/min injectors and 89-91 crx hf uses 235cc/min injectors. . . so I think both sets of injectors I've used in my crx have probably been wrong. I read that the 88 uses a longer injection signal for the lower flow injectors. Perhaps if I swap the ECU out of the 90 crx hf then it would send the shorter signal to the injectors that i need so i'm not spraying the extra 24% gas into the engine.

I've heard the 88 used different sized injectors, but are you sure of the sizes (180/235)? I thought they were 190cc for the 88 and 240cc for the 90. This is just what I have heard, so not sure here.
