Re: My Honda CBF125 on 150mpg :)
Hmm, but in the point of: is not as heavier as a chain, clean, no maintenance, noise-free..what you think? I always think a belt was better than a chain. Only it high-power motorcycles, chain is a truly better, because of the torque and power to the back wheel..
dunno, just wondering :P |
Re: My Honda CBF125 on 150mpg :)
I like the belt, it lasts quite long and needs no lubing nor anything.
The downside is that it doesn't warn me that it's about to wear off like a chain does (we needed to regularly adjust it when it was heavily used). No, it's not necessarily true. But it didn't warn me early (and clearly) enough to replace it cleanly, but just snapped 3000km before the next regular maintenance when I planned to replace it. |

Another little eco run:
0.5L = 37.1km 1.348L/100km Lets try to achieve 370km with 5L of gas :) |

I want to let you know that Honda recommends oil change every 4000 km for your bike, not 3000. Only the second maintenance the oil was in 3000 km. First at 1000km, second at 4000. Afterwards: every 4000 or 6 months (whatever comes first). Only 0,9 liter oil, surprising! You engine does not have a classic oil filter, only a strain and centrifugal filter. That must be the reason for this low interval. Those 2 need to be cleaned every 12k km. Spark plug change every 8000 km, airfilter change every 12k km, valve clearance check every 4000 km... You're bike's asking a lot of attention. Much more then mine. But yours is anyhow much cheaper in partscost and number (only 1 sparkplug e.g.). |
Re: My Honda CBF125 on 150mpg :)
Teresa needs 2.5l oil and a filter every 10000km. One single spark plug + valve check (4 valves) @ every 20000. Air filter, practically as it gets dirty, I even had a 10000km period when it remained quite clean.
Parts are most probably much more expensive than for a 125cc. That belt/sprocket is certainly several times more expensive than a cbf125 chain set. Ciliegia's service period is 5000km and she needs 1.8l oil and a filter. 2 spark plugs every 10000, I guess. And having more than one cylinder carbs have to be synced. There are 8 valves to check, at an unknown (to me) frequency :o I never do it, the workshop does most of the maintenance :o |
Re: My Honda CBF125 on 150mpg :)
so no updates just a one tank wonder to see your name in the top ten list!!!
|
Re: My Honda CBF125 on 150mpg :)
Which is getting annoying, because that should be a 90-day list and that single tank owns everything since a year and a half :confused:
