I'm looking to move up to a prius or hchI or even civic when I graduate. I won't log too many miles until then anyway (and I hope an EV will go in the works).

For the average person though, I think vehicle switching is the only really efficient thing...

Any links to this kinda of stuff? I would be more than interested.

NOx is my big worry. I know that with my EFIE gizmo, I can create a lean-burn mode (which should lower CO2), but I don't want to compromise my emissions.

My goal is to maintain a lean-burn that still allows me to comply with California emission standards. I intend to "just barely comply" and then try to figure out ways I can lower the NOx while maintaining lean burn.

Don't think it'll happen...perhaps get one of those super fancy cats for the new diesels...

That is something I would like to see in general. An aftermarket cat that could be retrofitted to older cars to bring them up to snuff. Like having Ford Focus PZEV emissions without the Ford Focus.

Hrmmmmmm, I wonder how the PZEV system works. Is it all in the cat?

I think a lot of it is in the engine design, especially as far as things like egr and such go...

Here they don't make a tight seal, BUT they suck in way more vapors than the liquid they are pumping displaces. Can't even smell gasoline while you are pumping. Very nice, really. BUT those controls are only mandated in our "non-attainment" areas, which probably represent about 30% of the gasoline sold in the US.
