The situation sucks though. I think you did the right thing. |
So I called in today again to say that I'm taking my second sick day to study. My Supervisor was furious. I was given some bull**** that I would of came in yesterday and did a couple hours of work and leave. Then the supervisor said today is my last day to decide whether it's work or school. I can't have both, only one.
The Supervisor told me I wasn't fired and that I will be given a verbal warning tommorow. Which basically means I will sit in an office tommorow with a closed door and the Supervisor will be yelling at me for 10-20min. Basically I won't be fired but I won't be able to take time off for school. So I will most likely fail a class that I need time for. |
Don't put work ahead of school. they know when you finish that you will probly leave anyways.

I'm thinking if another thing happens at work then to just apply for a loan. Go to school and finish it.

When I was state manager of a electronics company I used to greet my workers every day, and then at the end of the day I would thank them for coming today and asked if they would be coming in tomorow.
These were full time positions so if they didn't come in it meant they were quiting so of course the expected answer would YES. But anyway I asked them and didn't tell them to come. In fact , I almost never told them to do anything. This combined with the Sticky tape base ball matches and radio controlled car races (inside the store) kept everyone stress free and highly efficient. We would also have an afternoon , I guess you could call it a meal , together and talk about stuff not work related. Did it work , YUP. While I was there we were doubling our sales every month and within 2 years were neck and neck with the main store that had been established for 20 years. Dominating bosses are a thing of the past , treat your employees nice and they will jump through hoops for you. |
It's cool to see a easy/relaxed boss. My previous jobs and this one all of the bosses are *******s. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.
My dad made a funny joke yesterday. When my supervisor called every possible phone number. He was like "I didn't know you worked for the military". I'm relaxed about the whole situation anyway, me getting fired by a psycho is not all that bad. I won't have to be stressed out like crazy anymore. Not only I was stressing out with school stuff but I stressed out at work like crazy. |

Go get a job at a local wal-mart. My middle daughter worked full time at a wal-mart all the way thru school. Got her degree and still works for wal-mart. Her degree is in sport therapy/dietary. She can go into store management with a snap of her fingers. That could lead to regional stuff. Shes already a dept. manager and partial store ast. manager. I have contacts at corporate. And have told her if she wants to be a product specialist or researcher or purchasing to let me know. During her time in school wal-mart really impressed her with how flexible they were when she needed time off for school, family or even time she wanted to attend a church camp she has went to every year as a young child. Just used wal-mart as a example in my family. Look around. There may be a great student job right under your nose. |
