nice...additives suck.

In the Honda owners manual it says that they just increase the total cost of ownership. However, in the search for the truth with acetone, I did find this site, so there is some good in it :)

YAY!

I'm personally glad you're here :)

Maybe sometime this summer we can conduct a blind study with spouses/friends.

We could give them 6 bottles and promise to add them to their gas tank. They will record their mileage after each fillup.

In three of the bottles will be the correct amount of acetone, and in the other three will be gasoline.

Do you know anyone that might be interested?

problem...

I can't think of another person who actually wants to save gas that bad in my area. Most of them own trucks in my region of Texas. One kid in high school just bought a Ford V-10 Triton. =$100 per fill.

I will definately throw it around. But, how can we take out the variables...

Most of the variables will just have to be included into the statistics. We can account for the big stuff rather easily (driver, vehicle). The rest (driving style, etc.) will just be a part of the normal routine. As long as they do not go on a road trip for one of the tanks we should be okay.

Most car owner's manuals say stuff like that. But then again you would expect that especially if it may have benefits that could include a longer lasting engine.
