Had to look "chilele" up! You need the right sort of book as a standby in the car: something you can pick up easily after not having looked at it for a long time and one you can read in short pieces, and one that's not too short in case you get stuck at the mechanic's. Right now I'm keeping The Compact Culture by O-Young Lee. It explores Japan's tendency to make the most out of miniaturization via a great many examples, so I can easily stop at the end of any one of them. And not much of a plot to forget!

Gave me the gist, assuming it's not a massive coincidence.

I guess I'm dense. I still don't get it.

Based on the context, I guess it has something to do with bodily waste...

I just noted the generally positive sentiment. Toothbrush and bodily waste? Did you watch Red Hot Catholic Love recently?

Why haul all that crap around? This is an economy site ain't it? You know- empty the crap out of your car, lighten the load, and all that? Isn't that pretty basic? Do you live in there? No wonder you need garbage cans in there too!

Meh, removing weight doesn't make much difference in most cars, especially the tiny amount of weight we're talking about -- maybe 10 to 30 pounds of stuff...

http://antiques.shop.ebay.ie/items/?...&_osacat=37941
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shillelagh_(club)

it's an irish stick, club, cane, bat, whatever. the context was as a weapon for self defense.
