I did not see anyone say this in this thread, but Shell is the #1 Oil importer from the Middle East (almost 2X more then what Chevon imports) .... if that matters to anyone out there. Arco(BP) imports ZERO barrels of oil from the middle-east... if that matters to anyone out there.

Not sure on what Shell(V-power) , Chevron(Techron)... or any other gas station has to offer will definitly/definitively increase anyones mpg, absolutely. Ultimately, they are marketing/advertising changes = in hopes to bring more sales at the pump, thats all. Marketing gimiks.... maybe/probably... there might be a little bit of added something in there.. but does it really help/make a difference??!!!

Here's a couple of site to look at if you want to know where your oil is coming from.

Precisely what I'm trying to determine. (For my car, in my environment, with my driving style.)

You should try to advance the ignition timing by a degree or three when you run on V-power. At least here in Sweden, it is rated higher (octane) and there should be a gain in FE from the better performing engine setting.

Our regular fuel is "diluted" with ethanol (5&#37 and since V-power (or premium) is not, some better FE is expected from that too.

super-stormtrooper,

it has been here(@ GS) that altho all gas is the same, shell and chevron have the highest quality additives. that said, i've tested all the stations in my area, concluding that shell gives my car the best FE.

exxon/mobile is boycotted by many here for their, let's say, shenanigans to be polite.

well, what is a consumer to do? @ least we're using less of it(gas/oil).

BTW, cool name/avatar. i love the star wars movies.
