I made catch cans for my cars several years ago. I just used old glass jars that were going to be thrown away anyway, drilled two holes in the lid, went to Home Depot, bought some lamp pipe and lamp nuts, cut two pieces of pipe about 1 1/2" long, fastened them in the holes with the nuts, sealed them with silicone and ran a hose from the pcv to one of the pieces of pipe then a hose from the other piece of pipe to the intake. On my '88 Escort I not only get oil trapped in the jar, but lots of other moisture from the system. I'm using about an 8 or 10 oz jar and it needs emptying every few hundred miles, because it is full.

on a car with high miles and alot of blow-by this would work great. i have an old toyota that has more oily sludge in the intake than in the crankcase. when i rebuild it neat year its gettin one of these.

This is a commercial unit designed to separate the oil from going back into the engine. It works very well on older cars and a mason jar screws in the bottom. You can see just how much oil you collect. I would just empty it and pour it back into the crankcase. $25 incl shipping- lower 48. If the image doesn't appear, could someone tell me how to upload a photo. Thanks
