I could weld a plate on the back of the nut easily enough. I have a while to think, since I wan't to run my WAI without making any other changes for a while. Of course, the improved coasting performance lately is scuppering that plan I guess. Drat.

$55 (with free shipping) rear view camera. Wireless. Wish it could just use my TomTom's screen to display. That'd be ideal. I guess since it's only when I'm moving stuff it wouldn't need to be elegant. $55 is more than I want to pay, but it'd be quick and easy. I'd never make it back, I guess. Bummer.

A friend of mine has the wireless camera, and the picture gets all fuzzy when it rains. He says sometimes when he's driving it will display the video from the car next to him... If I was going that route I'd go hard wired, but that's just me.

I was thinking wireless could allow me to attach the camera to the load I'm carrying, since the back may be up and the usual mounting area out of sight. I guess it could still be wired in that scenario. You know...I have an old surplus webcam that runs on 5 VDC. It's in my crawlspace staring at my oil tank level right now. Wonder what small LCD screens go for.

Maybe a busted camcorder off of Ebay? Screen and a camera!

I wonder how confusing it would get using the camera mounted on the trailer for backing up...

Maybe it would be easier! Just keep the camera aimed where you want to go. Once I was backing up and the trailer was very hard to control. I managed to get it where I needed it and when I checked it out I found I had forgotten to latch onto the ball and it had popped off so only the safety chains were guiding it! Fortunately this was before I left the driveway (was loading my riding mower).

Looked around for a sliding bracket thingo (see picture), but the proper search terms escaped me. All the ones I found were very pricey for guns, cameras, or telescopes. I could make something (I have a slot cutter for my milling machine or just stack one up), but it'd be a pain.

Yes, that's a similar profile. I still can't remember what I'm visualizing. It's plastic, and I think the plastic is black or grey.

I've seen them too. But where?! It's driving me a little nuts.

I know I've seen them on speakers attaching to boom boxes and computer speakers attaching to monitor sides or a speaker base, but that's still not the one I see in my head.
