JCWhitney sells or sold a muffler tip that uses a spring loaded butterfly to restrict the exhaust during cruise and increase mpg.

The spiral mufflers reduce back pressure and might increase exhaust flow by spiraling the gases.

The Jegs spiral muffler looks like the best deal...not so sure it is sized right for a 4 cylinder though.

When you see a bunch of idiots piling in on a subject and doing the ridicule thing...run don't walk. Just because it's the internet doesn't mean only bright people are on it.

You test things by buying or making them, installing them, and then checking your resulting mileage.
