Well, no one I know personally does, but at the shop we had to hold up a brake job for an hour while we searched for the bottle of lube because they were fanatical about that. That and spraying all the pads withdisc brake quiet.

I follow the Hayne's manual pretty religiously since I don't have any other reference. It didn't suggest anything other than what I did.

Their instructions didn't much help when it came to getting things put back together, "Installation is the reverse of removal." Yeah...okay...sure.

What on earth is disc brake quiet? Just something to lube the pads? Even my rusted brakes were dead quiet...

You spray it on the back of the pads so it doesn't squeak against the calipers, and on battery terminals. They're just anal at the shop with brake jobs because every little random squeek from the brakes getting worn in comes back and gets whined about.

*smack* Oops, I just realized that the axle nut socket size is 1.188 in. (1 3-16), not 1.313 in.

I'd edit the DIY, but then I'd have to fix all the pictures...again.

Oh, yeah, I mean...uh...yeah...1.188 in. that's totally what I'd said.

Thanks, Ben...
