landspeed: That is a lot of snow though - how do you do food shopping etc?

We could probably get by for 6 months with our food stash. We're OK as long as Virginia don't tell me we're out of TP.

Huh uh. My Dodge 4WD goes, but I sure have to watch where it's going.

The weather's been nice here in wisconsin, it's been in the high 30's low 40's, so the little bit of snow we got on new years turned everything to mud.
I am still waiting to get my winter coat out, if it stays nice like this I might have to get a motorcycle out tho.
normal weather here at this time of year is in the low 20's with a few inches of snow, if it stays like this I'm not sure how we are going to keep the riff raff out.

We lived in Illinois years ago and if it snowed early it lasted all winter, black and grungy. Couldn't wash your car all winter and wouldn't help if you did. Had it pretty easy here for the last few years.

Who are the riff-raff?
