well I think I just figured out he has a map sensor instead of a maf, maybe get a better oil filter(purolator pure1) to make up for the extra stuff k&n lets through, lol

Next, get your car tuned up, and I mean well.

New filters, fluids, plugs/wires, pvc, etc.
pcv... positive crankcase ventilation

Only if you over oil them.

In my meta-sig (click the link in my sig), I have links from the US EPA and an independent experimenter (who also provides a plethora of other useful info) showing that even a seriously clogged filter doesn't reduce fuel economy.

I think that even with my WOT technique I wouldn't lose any FE. WOT at low RPM is still a small fraction of the flow that a stock paper filter is designed for.

A K&N might help FE in a race, but not under normal or hypermiling conditions.

Thanks for the tips, I haven't recorded my mileage lately, I used to on just about every tank. I still reset the trip so I have a rough guess. Anyways the most I remember seeing is 27mpg combined which isn't too bad at all. I'd love to get it to 30 or more average. I'll be updating my gaslog soon
