VX vs CX Exhaust Manifold?

Okay well, my VX manifold is cracked and it's impossible to find one here in Canada.

Anyways, I had no luck and ended up finding somebody with a CX manifold. I haven't received the CX manifold yet but upon pictures, it looks like the o2 is placed differently compared to the VX.

My biggest concern is: will I be okay and see the same FE with the CX manifold?

Here is what I'm talking about...

Somebody's cracked VX manifold

VS

My CX manifold that is being shipped to me

THOUGHTS???

You're saying this won't fit? http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-Solutions-Exhaust-Manifold-674-545/dp/B000E322YU/ref=au_pf_ss_1?ie=UTF8&Model=Civic|752&n=15684181& s=automotive&Make=Honda|59&Year=1992|1992&carId=00 2

Just because the manifold you're buying isn't cracked, doesn't mean it won't crack. These manifolds are prone to cracking and so you should just buy a new, replacement manifold.. Be happy you only need to replace the manifold because on the '96-'00 civics, the manifold and catalytic converter are one piece and since my manifold is now cracked at the o2 sensor, this means I have to replace the entire thing!

Re: VX vs CX Exhaust Manifold?

it appears that the cx and vx are a little different from each other. nothing significant. just the angle and position of the o2.

i ain't rich. don't we all wish we can buy new from the stealership. that's easy for somebody to say. but good condition used is fine with me. the one you listed won't work. failsauce for you.

yup, mine(LX) is cracked as well. $200+ for the cat/manifold assembly. no O2 codes, so i'll keep on keepin on until...

good luck w/ your CX swap!

Re: VX vs CX Exhaust Manifold?

Hi, If the 1st manifold(that's my cracked manifold picture btw) is like yours then that CX manifold you just bought will not fit the catalytic converter. I hope you got the cat. along with the manifold, which was my mistake.

I'm going to throw in the towel and just buy a new one.
