Total fill cost calculation is wrong
Have just entered a fuel up and i see Tank cost is calculated litte bit wrong.
I filled 45.710 l and price was 11.79 per liter, then Fuelly calculated 538.907 per fill. Actually will be: 45,71 * 11,79 = 538,9209
PS: It is not possible to contact Fuelly, contact page has a Captcha script error.

I have been wanting them to allow putting in the total cost per tank, and have Fuelly figure the unit cost. They have not chosen to allow that option, so I don't use the cost at all.

I always get confused by the price of fuel. In the UK, everything is quoted in price per litre, but fuel is always point nine at the end example: £1.269 per litre. There's no way of spending .09 pence in the UK, there's no such thing. So if you wanted to buy exactly 1 litre, you'd pay slightly more? Hmmm...

They play the same silly game in the US, and have done so for decades. There is no such thing as .9 cents here, either. It is just a ploy to make the purchaser think the thing costs a cent less per unit. Just like charging $4.99 for an item is designed to make the purchaser think it is closer to $4 than to $5.

That is odd. I'll pass this along to our Team to research. Thanks for catching it.
Regarding the Captcha, do you have any adblockers enabled on your browser?
What browser and version are you using?
Regarding the floating 9 in the thousandths place, here's a good article explaining it: http://www.marketplace.org/topics/bu...s-end-910-cent

I'm brand new to Fuelly, going to take my brand new vehicle on a long road trip. Haven't filled it once yet. When I enter the price per gallon, does the algorithm assume the .9 cents? in other words, if the price of fuel is posted as 2.499, should I enter 2.49, or the closer 2.50? Thanks!

Hi welcome. Mine is price per litre and I add it as 1.299 example. So yea, add the actual price, it will be more accurate.
