And I'm going to have a 40+ mile commute one-way once my house is finished. I have to live out there though to get away from people. I'm not a fan of people. Stupid HOA's, neighbors yelling "SLOW DOWN" when you're going 20 mph in a convertible *gasp*, telling me I can't park my flatbed out front because it ruins the look of the neighborhood, blablabla

Good points.

Also, if you read the articles that go with each graph, you find that in the UK, where commute times are highest, 10% of commuters walk, vs 3% in the US.

In general, it wouldn't hurt if North Americans adopted a little more of the European sensibility towards transportation.

Or :

"I should like to be able to love my country and still love my MPG"

Hmmmmmm, maybe not the same gravitas, but you get the mileage.

I totally get the mileage

i took an office job once...
i went insane
imagine me admitting i have reached an insane point
where as what you are seeing now is just normal every day life for me
i'm up to 375k miles in my career since may 2000
i love the federal highways
i just hate the source and original purpose that created them
its hard for me to accept the necessity of arms to create useful life purpose
where everything fundamentaly usefull is a byproduct of the war machine
in fact, that is the double edged sword that drives me uncanny

also we are still dealing heavily with the nature of energy that surmounted from '67-'75
uranus in libra tore apart the lives
i dont really get on with people who were born or were alive before '75
because this energy affected them...
you cant even begin to explain this energy as the source without complete and total denial...
everyone who was alive is messed up...just look how decisions are made...
certainly the biggest decisions aren't made if they make sense or not...
or if they hold any likelyhood of beauty or calm
important decisions today are emergent...if we dont do something now...

and we are all subject to this lifestyle as the norm and ONLY way to adjoin in the system of america...
all i can offer really for understanding is how i feel i came into understanding how things work...
i studied the birth chart of america on july 4th 1776
and cross referenced common astrological patterns of energy

basically...america is an emotional hole of negative escapism
and the most common message is "what are you gonna do about it"
how can a new world order surmount by the peoples notion of what is right
when those in control now would never give up that control
and certainly are building there own new world order designed to their control objective
when it arrives...you will say....'i guess thats it'...
or we will have gained control of our destiny as a people and we (the majority)...
...will say with absolute certainty 'we have done our part to secure the future as GOOD'
there will be no uncertainty...if you make sure...
unfortuneatly there is no plan for this...and requires the work of the people beyond their daily 'necessary life' to exist in the present way of life...
you hear me talking

there is alot of good in america...its just the bad is really bad...
alot of planets in one area of the chart...specifically the midheaven...
which gives rise to why everything is so "high"....or must be so "high"
there is no energy source of similiar magnitude anywhere else...
so everything is gravitated

all this raising of the roof has let all the heat out
all i feel is a cold industrialized lifeforce of black oil

if you have trouble believing that the planets can have an effect on your life
think of it this way
the earth has the ability to hold your *** to its surface
is that not significant power...?
what are you gonna do about it...lol...???
how could the other planets not have their 'say' on your behind

That's why I took my first full time job out of college. Five minute commute from my parents house. I used to laugh at all the commuters. Now I weep with them, .

They're way ahead of us, but the SUV virus is entering Europe too :

I think people have lost their ability to think for themselves. I'd need all night to get into that though.
I read a really really really good article on SUV owner psychology, but I can't find it. So I started Googling. Here's a Minivan vs SUV owner profile comparison :

"Was Freud a Minivan or S.U.V. Kind of Guy?"
http://web.syr.edu/~dlmiller/Minivan-SUV.htm

Here is an interesting thesis on the FEAR-based psychology of an SUV owner :

Here's an amalgum of SUV articles :

None of this is in any way related to not only the thread , or to this Gassavers forum.

Why not try a more appropriate venue to talk about uranus, , and stop stealing our cows !

lol

it has everything to do with everything
the people in control that make all the rules
that have the say of what makes it through the gate to economic america
they are in control
that 30mpg is a good standard for fuel economy (when it sucks and we know we can and should do better)
but that oil drives the economy even though its destroying the essential necessary direction
it all comes back to the people in power and the reason they make their decision one way or the other...
and i am focusing on WHY they make that decision
because life was REALLY f'ed up back then...
everything IS NOT emerging RIGHT NOW...
people have been really pissed off for many many years
who doesn't want to seal up this life and throw away the key as "case solved".
who...if not those that have to deal with all this bs the most
the government

granted they are well compensated...but we are overrun and under the control of
"what are you gonna do for me"

oh and the government controls on a large 21" lcd screen the traffic patterns of the cow stealing ufo's so that they show up on time to distract you while they steal all the camels right behind your back

when was the last time you saw a camel now...eh eh....???
dont lie
