Filled today (04/13/2007) @ $1.029 a litre. Gas prices are going up and up. I drove 805 kilometres and used 34.620 litres of fuel, so I converted that to 499.1 miles driven and 9.111 gallons used. 54.77 MPG(US).

$35.62 gas bill . The lady in front of me had a Dodge Caravan and I overheard the cashier saying $63.00 for her vehicle . I'm so used to my Geo, I forgot what a 'real car' is actually like.

Hanging the Commish, is more like it

A re-count is in process. Anyone with access to the sheet knows the result.

A public announcement is pending -- hold tight.

04/14/2007 .. 161 .. 5.6 .. 2.79 .... 28.75

I hate my car, To be more specific, I hate my auto tranny. My last few days I was just flooring my car because I was sick of trying to get the best mpg. I was hoping the engine would blow up so I could go get a different car. No such luck My mileage wasn't that bad considering.

I've noticed this on Taurii and Sables: if you're moving along in Drive and shift to Neutral, does the engine rev-up to 3000 RPM and slowly tach back down? I tried hypermiling some rental Tauruses and Neutral-on-the-move just freaked it out.

Good luck on blowing up the Duratecs -- the "Vulcan"/non DOHC was much more prone to giving it up.

I wouldn't get discouraged -- the FETC is based on improvement over a long cycle. If it's just crappy mileage you're worried about, a car with a functioning engine has a better trade-in value

4/13/2007 634 miles, 8.9 gal, 71.2mpg, $2.48/gal
Driving conditions: 30 miles of snow and brine roads, 50 miles of rain and wet roads, headwind and tailwind driving mostly cancelled out each other.

SG 150 miles@40.0 I think it's a little conservative. The cold snap got me.

The Base line and team members have been edited into the first post for those that are interested.
