Eko that S-man. I juiced it low and crunked the vtaK in my ess-EyE. Thought I f***ed it all up in there. Turnz out da slick stuff was lo-down. Took a rookie visit to the D-L-R to get the info y0!
Seriously, took a corner quickly, autocross style, and the VTEC went into "safe mode". I honestly thought I srewed up badly. Just took a quart of oil or two and things were back to normal. It just used it up quickly for some reason.
But to answer the question, most cars here are older and might use some oil between changes. I like to have it full to the recommended level for safety purposes. The oil pump will pump the same amount of oil unless you're nearly out, which can improve mileage while coasting on a locked-up engine.
