Matt, I think most people on this forum realize that the smart cars look is specifically designed to have the most amount of interior space in the smallest possible foot print. This results in the dorkmobile look (like an xb). Obviously the smart would benefit greatly with a sleaker/more areo body, but the interior space would suffer.

look at this car. It is built with the same engine/ chassis as a smart. It also gets much better mpg. Unfortunately it would not have mass appeal because of the cramped interior and strange look.

I like the little silver car: reminds me of a HotWheels car I got for 3 cherrios box tops as a kid. It's got enough room for me ( single/no kids). I live near enough to stores that I don't need to haul in mass amounts of food.I don't usually get up and walk around while driving and the seat looks big enough. I don't mind what others think of it. Not having a full size truck makes people here think you're an odd ball anyway. Not a family car by any means but there are lots more singles than there have ever been in the US.
