I have a membership at a newer gym where they initially painted the parking spaces along the entire front of the building for what would truly only work for sub-compacts. The end result was that everybody just ignored the lines and probably took up more space than if they had just painted them a more standard width - which they later did.

(snicker) When we go to the mall to get some exercise walking (and me trying to get the wife to spend less), we deliberately don't bother parking close...kinda defeats the purpose of going to get exercise, eh? It is fun, though to see if we can get the kiddies outta the car, loaded in strollers and get to the door before people that we see circling for the closest space possible (who usually only get about 100' closer).
