Saving a day and a half.

I just thought of something, all things being equal (time, speed, miles, etc...), if someone goes from a car that gets 25mpg and can go 500 miles on a tank, to a car that gets 50mpg and can go 1000 miles on a tank, over 100,000 miles, they'll save about 16 hours of time spent in gas stations, assuming a 5 minute fillup. 32 hours assuming a 10 minute fillup!

So if I can double my mileage via mods, or just double my tank size, all in under ~32 hours (I've never had a 5 minute fillup, 10-15 minutes is more like it), then I will be ahead of the game time wise.

I don't know that's what they say about technology. We are much more productive now but most still don't have any free time. More fruits and vegies ought to help the pit stop time.

Everyone is just checking out each others ride. I had the joy of going to a "Full Service" gas station the other day (no I'm not in Jersey). Scared to death the attendent was going to screw on my gas cap and misthread it plus overfill my tank (custom stainless steel that vents when overfilled). The car is not listed in my garage and won't be listed due to its horrendous mileage but going to the gas station is sort of fun even though I am dumping money away.

If you drive a car that obviously gets good mileage there's always the conversation you get from your pump neighbor. Many a time I've spotted low tires on someones car and done my part to help them get better mileage - one of my superpowers along with mindreading (a decade and a half of marriage and you'll be a mindreader too

).
