Reliability

MPG is not the only figure. One has to account for maintenance and repairs.

I owned many cars. And they all had something in common: they break down. Even a new car left me on foot on the highway.
So how to choose the best car to save as much money as possible?
Every car maker will say that their cars are the best.
Friends, family and neighbours all have different opinions about cars.
To solve the problem, I resorted to statistical data like this:

Wish I could find a USA centered site. Very nice if you live in Britain

Odd results on that 1st graph, seeing as Skoda, VW, Seat & Audi all use the same engines & same floor pans for many models the wide disparity doesn't make sense *shrug*.

Consdering the newest Rover in their would be 6+yrs old that's kinda unfair to keep them in, no new cars to lower their average. Although they had a bad reliabilty rep anyway! lol

Skoda tend to use the tried-&-true engines (such as the 1.9TDI), whereas Audi tend to use the brand-new (but unreliable) technology & lots of electronics. VW sit in the middle technology-wise. That's why so many taxis use Skoda rather than other badges from VAG.
