Fixed the suspension but I couldn't find the vacuum leak, about time for a test drive on the suspension.

Haha, I just ate some more of that icing...anyway, the test drive went well, dunno about the vacuum leak but I can troubleshoot that later.
Also my battery light is on, I dunno why, there's a ground in there I sorta half-heartedly put together, but I dunno what it was for, mehbe that is it?

Did you leave the engine in the car during the tranny swap, since you opted only to change the head?

Haven't changed the head, went for plan C, the head will have to happen later. I'm just trying to ensure that problems are localized.
Turns out the battery light was telling me the battery wasn't charging, I musta left something unhooked, had to push start like crazy.

The charging problem was the alternator belt basically hanging off, I'm guessing that jared loosened the alternator to help lean the engine (before he left he was saying he forgot to tell me something that seemed important, ) or the engine lean broke it
*shrug*
Hoping it's good from now on.

ROFL, some good laughs. I'm not laughing at you, i'm laughing with you. You'll look back soon and you'll have the MID in, the cool cluster, the head, and a manual and some other stuff.

I KNEW I FORGOT SOMETHING!!!!!!! DAMMMITTTT1!!!!!!
so yea, that explains a lot. the block wouldnt tilt down if i had not loosened the alternator and pressed it close to the block. as we tried lowering the block the alternator pulley kept hitting the frame rail. which brings me to a mild concern. assume you adjusted it back out and got it running, how is the alternator pulley bearing?

The alternator in every sense of its function seems fine. My "vacuum leak" turned out to be solved by fixing the alternator tension as well.
*shrug* I'll wire tonight and mehbe cover the holes from the old shifter that let in hot exhausted air.
