Yeah - Top Gear has a way with squashing hype. I wouldn't say that they have no political bias, but they do seem to be quite honest in their opinions at least.

Of course, we in the US don't have many of the truely effecient gas/diesel vehicles they have in other markets. So, in our market it's a big deal because we don't have many models that rank at that mileage.

Also keep in mind they are really about performance (acceleration in any direction) - I mean, that's the show's bread and butter. And I really enjoy the episode on the Areial Atom. Funny stuff.

o-60 in 13.5 seconds? Mine does it in 10.5 seconds. Maybe European seconds are shorter than american seconds. And to get 45 MPG on the highway, you would have to drive 75-80MPH.

god people with money are full of ****

top gear is a great show but for consumers i never take it seriously only entertainment.

5th gear is a better consumer oreinted show

edit: I must admit it was pretty entertaining, but i think the prius solves the pollution problem associated with rush hour traffic.

dan probably the battery was drained when he decided to do a run. I remember reading something about the prius classic in Europe getting a boost over the American version! so there should be no reason for the prius II to be slower than its American counterpart.

I actually like Top gear more. I know about 5th gear and watched and wasn't interested. I like shows to be honestly brutal.
