Peep I need some suggestions..

I'm currently working on my 91 CRX HF d15z1 conversion but am already looking ahead to my next project which is a 4 door of some kind. Maybe my search inputs are to vague but I'm not really finding anything that I expected. Any suggestions? Looking to make a four door that can be modified for high MPG!
Thanks!
Paul

Re: Peep I need some suggestions..

How about just getting another D15Z1 and putting it into a 92-95 4 door Civic?

I was wondering if anyone has tried this. Would the four door be to heavy?

After Erik suggested that I was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe an 88 89 90 model with the d15z1 might be better...don't know though

Re: Peep I need some suggestions..

The Ford Aspire came in 4 door, and with a stick shift they're very good on MPG. My two door gets an average of 39mpg, and I'm not at all being a very FE conscious driver. The 4 door has the same engine and transmissions as my two door.

Just get the stick. The automatic is a horrible, useless 3 speed no lockup slushbox that drains half the HP and doesn't even get as good highway MPG as the stick shift gets City.

Interesting. I did not know the Aspire came in a 4 door.

For that matter, my 2008 VW Rabbit/Golf was available in 4 door and I got the same fuel economy with more space, power, amenities, and (if you care about this sort of thing) style...of course the price is a LOT more. It had ridiculously short gears, but if you're willing to P&G on the highway then it's decent on the highway, and it's great on country roads/city.
